Uganda is a good year-round destination, but the rainy seasons (March to May and November to December) can make logistics a little tricky.

Just like gorilla trekking, you need a chimp trekking permit for chimps in Kibale National Park, Kyambura Gorge and Budongo Forest. Currently Kibale chimpanzee trekking permits cost USD150.00 per person

Unlike gorilla trekking, Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda can be done in the morning or afternoon in Uganda. Depending on your program or flight details, you may choose to book a morning or afternoon chimp trekking session. Alternatively you can book chimpanzee habituation experience at USD220.00 to spend a whole day with chimpanzee under habituation. Booking your chimpanzee permit in advance puts you at an advantage as they can sometime run out of stock.
